Celebrating Scouting: Pack 337’s Blue & Gold Banquet
Greetings Pack 337 Families,
What a wonderful evening we shared together at this year’s Blue & Gold Banquet! The Blue & Gold celebration is always a special night in Cub Scouting. It marks the birthday of Scouting in America and gives us a chance to reflect on the accomplishments of our Scouts while celebrating the community that makes Pack 337 such a great place to grow and learn.
The evening began with time for families to gather and visit before dinner. It was great to see Scouts laughing with friends, families catching up, and everyone sharing in the excitement of the night. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious dinner from Mr. Goodcents together, which is always one of the highlights of the banquet.
Following dinner, we were treated to a performance from the Mic-O-Say dancers. They quickly captured the attention of our Scouts and even invited the audience to participate in the dancing. They mentioned how our group was the largest audience they had ever danced with. This made the experience even more memorable for everyone involved.
After the performance, we moved into the awards and recognition ceremony. Each of our dens had the opportunity to come forward and celebrate the achievements of their Scouts:
- Our Lions were recognized for taking their first steps in Scouting and learning what it means to do their best and be part of a team.
- The Tigers showed how they’ve grown through teamwork, games, and learning to be good sports.
- Our Wolves demonstrated increasing independence while learning about their community and developing outdoor skills.
- Our Bears continued building responsibility and confidence as they tackled more advanced skills and challenges.
- Our Webelos Scouts showed the leadership and maturity that prepares them for the next step in their Scouting journey.
Watching each Scout proudly receive their awards was a powerful reminder of how much they’ve learned and grown over the year.
We also took time to recognize the incredible Den Chiefs who help guide our younger Scouts and serve as role models from the Troop. Their leadership and willingness to give their time makes a big difference in the success of our dens.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our Den Leaders, Committee Members, and parent volunteers. These dedicated adults give their time, energy, and creativity to provide meaningful experiences for our Scouts week after week. Pack 337 truly thrives because of their commitment to the program and to our kids.
The Blue & Gold Banquet is always a celebration of more than just awards. It is a celebration of friendship, family, leadership, and the values that Scouting has upheld for over 100 years. Seeing our Scouts grow in character, confidence, and kindness reminds us why this program continues to make such a positive impact.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize the event, assisted with decorations, and supported the evening in so many ways. Your efforts helped create a memorable night for our Scouts and their families.
Yours in Scouting,
Edward Francis
