Welcome to a New Year of Adventure with Pack 337!

Greetings Pack 337 Families,

I am so excited to welcome you to another year of Cub Scouting adventure! As Cubmaster, I can already see the energy, curiosity, and excitement our Scouts bring to every meeting, and I know this will be a year full of growth, friendship, and fun.

One of the greatest gifts of Scouting is the wide variety of skills our Scouts develop along the way. Over the course of the year, they will learn teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, outdoor skills, and even how to serve their communities with kindness and respect. Whether they’re building a fire, leading a skit, or solving a puzzle, every experience is another step in becoming more confident and capable young people.

This past week, we jumped right in with a hands-on STEM night. The Scouts had a blast building and launching paper rockets, testing their designs with paper airplanes, and even practicing math while creating their own trail mix. These activities weren’t just fun—they gave our Scouts a chance to experiment, think critically, and discover how science and math connect to everyday life. Watching their excitement reminded me how much they learn while they play!

As we move forward into the year, I want to encourage all of you to keep inviting new families to join Pack 337. Scouting is even better when it’s shared, and every new Scout brings new ideas, energy, and friendships to our Pack. Kids can invite their friends by:

  • Bringing a buddy to a meeting or special activity.
  • Wearing their Cub Scout uniform proudly at school and sharing about what they do.
  • Talking to classmates about the fun things they’ve done—like launching rockets or camping—and encouraging them to come see for themselves.
  • Handing out invitation cards (which we can provide) to friends they’d like to join.

Let’s make this year one of our best yet by building not just skills, but also a bigger community of families who want to grow, learn, and have fun together. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and the time you give to make Scouting possible for our kids.

Please fill out this Pack Registration form so we can get some more information about you and your scouts. We will use this information to help identify individuals that could help us out in certain situations.

We are still looking for a Committee Chairman to help run the Pack. All of our positions are 3 year terms. Here is a great blog about the committee chair positions: Understanding the Role of the Pack Committee Chair – Scouting magazine.

Additionally, we are creating an Activities Sub-committee with one (or more) parent from each den (other than the Den Leader) to help with the planning and execution of special events (e.g. Trunk or Treat, Holiday Party, Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold). We currently only have a parent volunteer from the Wolves’ Den.

Here’s to another great year of adventure with Pack 337!

Yours in Scouting,
Edward Francis
